Meet the Team!

  • Ravi Shah, M.D. is a board certified neurologist and was born in New York City, NY, but spent most of his childhood in Tampa, FL. He obtained his medical degree from the University of South Florida School of Medicine, and completed his neurology residency at the University of Colorado Health Science Center; he was chief resident in his final year. Dr. Shah is the founder of Neurology of the Rockies, L.L.C., and is the stroke/neurology director at Parker and Castle Rock Adventist Hospitals. Dr. Shah is a headache and sports concussion specialist and is an expert in the use of botulinum toxin injections to treat a variety of neurological disorders including chronic migraine headaches, spasticity, and dystonia. Additionally, he is a national speaker and trainer for Botox®; he trains neurologists around the country on how to perform Botox® injections.

  • Jeff Tam Sing, M.D. is a native of Honolulu, Hawaii.  He obtained his medical degree at the University of Hawaii, John A. Burns School of Medicine.  His neurology residency training was done at Oregon Health and Science University in Portland Oregon. He then moved to Denver where he completed a fellowship in neuromuscular medicine at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center.  Dr. Tam Sing treats general neurological conditions, specializing in neuromuscular disorders. Dr. Jeff Tam Sing is a board certified neurologist.

  • Karen Karwa, M.D. was born and raised in Mumbai, India. She attended medical school at Lokmanya Tilak Medical College in Mumbai. She completed her neurology residency at the Medical University of South Carolina where she served as Chief Resident. Dr. Karwa continued on to the Cleveland Clinic Foundation in Ohio to complete a fellowship in Neuromuscular Medicine. Dr. Karwa provides comprehensive management for a wide range of neurological conditions and has a special interest in managing patients with neuromuscular conditions. She also served as Honorary Medical Chair for the Myasthenia Gravis walk in Colorado. Dr. Karen Karwa is a board certified neurologist and neuromuscular specialist.

  • Hamid Mortazavi, M.D. is a board certified neurologist practicing general neurology with an emphasis on headaches, seizures, dementia, movement disorders and stroke. He attended medical school at Kermanshah University of Medical Sciences in Iran. He then went on to complete a Neurology Residency at the University of South Alabama, during which time he was Chief Resident of Neurology during his third year of residency. He lives in Colorado Springs with his wife and three children were they appreciate spending time outdoors and traveling around our beautiful state. In his free time, he also enjoys playing competitive tennis and mountain skiing.

  • Dr. Luisa Solis-Cohen is a board-certified Neurologist and Movement Disorder specialist. Raised in New York, she graduated from Brandeis University with a BS in Neuroscience and then pursued research in Cognitive Neurology at the University of Pennsylvania. She earned her medical degree from the University at Buffalo School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences, graduating magna cum laude in 2012. Her Neurology Residency and Movement Disorder Fellowship were completed at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston, a Harvard training program. She was Chief Resident, the recipient of multiple teaching and science awards and inducted into the Gold Humanism Honor Society. Dr. Solis-Cohen moved with her family to Colorado where she established a movement disorder clinic in 2017. Her clinical interests include Parkinson’s disease, essential tremors, dystonia, and therapeutics including deep brain stimulation (DBS) and botulinum toxin injections. She participates in community outreach and clinical research related to Parkinson's disease, DBS therapy and palliative care. Dr. Solis-Cohen is dedicated to individualized, compassionate patient care.

  • Sarah Smith, PA-C is from beautiful Woodland Park, CO.  She received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Kinesiology from University of Colorado and received her Master’s in Physician Assistant Studies from Samuel Merritt University.  Sarah is a member of Colorado Academy of Physicians Assistants, the American Academy of Physician Assistants, and is certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physicians Assistants.

  • Rachelle Webster, PA-C has many years of experience treating headaches and migraine, including Botox injections for chronic migraine. She was born in Wyoming but has spent most of her life in Colorado. She received her bachelor’s degree in 1998 from The University of Colorado and graduated with her PA degree from the University of Alabama at Birmingham in 2000. Before joining Neurology of the Rockies, Rachelle worked in Plastic Surgery, Dermatology and Family Medicine. She is married to a wonderful husband and is the proud mother of her teenage son and her lovely Golden Retriever. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family, hiking, biking and painting. She is particularly active in raising awareness about human trafficking and supporting various rescue homes and organizations who help trafficking victims. She has been on 2 mission trips in Juarez and Nicaragua, one of which involved serving trafficking victims.

  • Beverly Baker-Newsholme, APRN-BC was born and raised in North Carolina.  She received her Bachelor’s degree in Nursing in 1991 from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.  She subsequently received her Master’s degree in Nursing in 1999 from Emory University in Atlanta and has worked as an Adult Nurse Practitioner in Neurology since that time.  She provides comprehensive management for a wide range of conditions, but has a special interest in management of headache and migraine patients including providing Botox injections for chronic migraine.  Beverly lives in Peyton with her husband Erik and their four legged fur babies Coco and Marley.  In her spare time, she enjoys making pottery, hiking, reading, snowmobiling, and off-roading.
